SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2018: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided the eligibility criteria for the aspirants of Junior Engineer recruitment. The SSC JE eligibility criteria has been announced with the official notification on October 20. The eligibility criteria highlights the conditions such as Nationality, Age Limit and Educational Qualification which all the aspirants will have to fulfil in order to apply online for SSC JE 2018. Applicants have to ensure they fulfil each of the conditions specified by the commission before they fill the online application form. According to the eligibility conditions as announced by SSC for the previous recruitment process of JE, applicants should be within the age group 18-32 years as per their choice of post, posses a degree/diploma in Engineering. The applicants should be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 to settle in India or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India. SSC will not accept the applications of those who do not fulfil the eligibility criteria of SSC JE. Nationality Only a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 to settle in India and people of Indian Origin who migrated to from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India.
Age The maximum age limit for the candidates is 32 years and the minimum age is 18 years.
Academic Qualification Degree/diploma in engineering

Educational Qualification

The applicants willing to participate in the recruitment of SSC JE 2018 need to posses certain academic qualifications. The required educational qualification has been decided according to the various posts that has been announced by the commission. Candidates can refer to the below table to know the requisite academic qualifications for each post.

Junior Engineer (Electrical) CPWD Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University or Institute.
(a) Junior Engineer (Civil), MES (b) Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), MES (c) Junior Engineer (QS&C), MES Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University OR (I) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board; and (II) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University; OR (I) Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board; and (II) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works.3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognised institute / University / Board or equivalent; OR Passed Intermediate examination in Building and Quantity Surveying Sub Divisional-II of the institute of Surveyors (India).

Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Date of Quality Assurance Naval Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from any recognised University / Institution; and Two years experience in respective fields i.e. – Either of the field quality assurance / quality control/ production/manufacturing and testing of marine engineering propulsion systems including turbines, power generation equipment, hydraulic system, as conditioning / refrigeration, pumps values, gears and gear trains, boilers, cranes/winches/load handling devices etc. including knowledge of various standard and their interpretation.
Junior Engineer (Electrical) Date of Quality Assurance Naval Diploma in Electrical Engineering from any recognised University/Institution; and Two years experience in respective fields i.e.- Either of the field quality assurance / quality control / production / manufacturing and testing of switch gears, cables, converters, light and light fittings, motors, generators, drives and control systems, airfield lighting equipment, Electronics / Radar / Radio / Telecommunication equipment, 7 electro hydraulic system, programmable logic controller based systems, printed circuit boards / instrumentation, software development and validation, network control system etc. including knowledge of various standard and their interpretation.
